RC Flights Club version 0.9 is focused on giving clubs more personality, making pixel art more useful, and improving the everyday experience around members, friends, and live sessions.
Club Pages Are More Customizable
Club owners now have more control over how their club detail pages look and feel.
Descriptions and rules now support safe basic Markdown, including headings, paragraphs, bullet lists, bold and italic text, inline code, and safe links. This should make club pages easier to organize and easier for members to read.
Owners can also customize the club detail page with:
- A page background color
- A theme color
- A text color
- Optional Links/Members section visibility
- Optional Upcoming Events section visibility
When a custom background color is set, it replaces the global airfield background image on that club page. If the Links/Members section is hidden, the main club details area expands to use the available space.
More text across the club detail page now respects the selected text color, including cards, member lists, popups, and banner editor text.
Easier Club Editing and Previewing
The club edit form now includes color picker controls for the new color fields, along with a live preview area. Owners can see how the background color, theme color, text color, and club name styling will look before saving.
This should make it easier to experiment with a club’s look without guessing how the final page will appear.
Better Club Banners and Pixel Art
Pixel art is now a bigger part of club identity.
Players can still create their normal member tile, but club owners now also get three additional banner-only tiles. These appear as separate tabs in the pixel tile editor:
- Member tile
- Banner tile 1
- Banner tile 2
- Banner tile 3
Each tile can be edited independently and saved one at a time or all at once. The extra banner tiles appear in the club banner builder as additional owner-created tiles, giving clubs more options for larger shared artwork.
The club banner builder also supports automatic layouts, manual tile placement, empty slots, cached previews, and manual tile ordering with the new banner tiles included.
Owners can also use a completed banner as a repeating tiled background on the club detail page.
Custom Club Logos
Club owners can now use pixel art as a custom club logo.
The pixel tile editor includes a Use as club logo option for club editors. This saves the current pixel tile into the club logo slot and replaces the generated club icon shown beside the club name.
This logo is separate from the club banner system, so clubs can have both a custom logo and a larger banner.
Safer Profile Image Updates
The Save as profile image action now shows a confirmation prompt before replacing a player’s profile image.
This should help prevent accidental overwrites when working in the pixel editor.
Friends, Members, and Live Sessions
Friend request behavior has been refined.
If a friend request is declined, the re-request cooldown is now 7 days instead of 14 days. If the sender cancels their own request before it is answered, that now uses a separate shorter cooldown of 1 day.
Member lists, friend controls, and live-session indicators have also been improved. Friend avatars can use pixel profile images, large member lists can open in a full popup, and live-session status updates in more places without needing a full page refresh.
Dark mode display issues in username and member popups have also been fixed.
Announcements Support Markdown
Announcements now support the same safe Markdown formatting as club pages.
This should make future update posts easier to scan, easier to format, and better organized.
Boids VR and Resource Updates
Boids VR has been added as a game resource, including updated links, improved cache handling, tracking/input fixes, and a dedicated resource icon.
Smaller Fixes and Reliability Updates
Version 0.9 also includes improvements to banner rendering, pixel art palette handling, form labels, accessibility, game linking, live sessions, static resource caching, and general reliability.
Overall, version 0.9 is a large step toward making RC Flights Club feel more personal for each club while keeping the core tools easier to use for regular players.
