Practice flying

by Mark

Focus on practicing/flying rather than building. Build only to adapt flight characteristics with minor adjustments. The more basic skills the more quality fun potential. It’s not about competition or rating.

For people who are fascinated by rc flying; are motivated to slowly improve their skills; appreciate to fly the wonderful build-in aircrafts; adore to sense and observe the aircrafts in relation to the atmospheric sceneries.

Some guidelines:

  • The discord Display Name should be indicated in the application, mine is “Mark”
  • It should also be possible to deduce the discord Display Name from the club member's name.
  • Acro 3D yes but no -0.20 CG light weight custom trim and constant spinning
  • Acro 3D only flown at a certain distance and without smoke
  • It’s -not- an Acro 3D club
  • In general, repetitive start-crash and respawn from the avatar position within a short time is prohibited
  • Lateral take off and landing are evidently parts of flying and interesting to practice
  • Throttle control is crucial
  • The Cub is a perfect beginner trainer
  • BYO aircrafts must be identifiable as such, meaning no cars aso
  • Only occasional sharing! No trading!
  • Mature behaviour assumed… from people -focused- on this topic

Maybe to frame it additionally and concerning myself as an idea:

  • I like to methodically practice fly patterns in order to improve specific manoeuvres. The Acro 300 -Acro trim- with its neutral settings seems perfect for that. The light weighted little Flipster can also be used to practice at very low speed and in a confined space but it’s very responsive.
  • I also like the Acro 3D trim, but no -0.20 CG and minimum weight custom trim and constant spinning. It’s about hovering without spinning and the capability to harrier with settings that allows usual flying within the limits of larger control surfaces with higher rates. In order not to annoy other people I train new techniques that might entail often start-crashes in singleplayer.
  • The build-in helicopters are a real added value with there specific fly characteristics. After lots of practice I’m able to somewhat enjoy the scale variants. It’s thrilling to hover and to pilot the beautiful models.
  • Not to forget gliding and soaring on the Half Moon Cliff like a seagull.
  • And then experience BYO creations in their predestined environment, nice.

I’m using a transmitter but basic skills are also achievable with Quest controllers. It takes some effort and I only progress slowly, but I stay focused, welcome to the club? ;) My English is limited, also speaking German and French.

Let’s enjoy practicing and flying together and maybe sometimes experience interactive flying in simple formation fly patterns and controlled chase happenings. The blue sky is the limit :)
